Life at St. Luke’s is based on one simple idea: building relationships. We were made to enjoy life in vibrant connection with God and others. At St. Luke’s we focus on our primary purpose: strengthening these relationships by loving and serving God and others.

Our lives were made to be lived in connection with God, the source of life itself.  When this relationship is right, life is full and vibrant, as He intended.  No matter how far we may find ourselves separated from God,  He desires to restore this relationship. 
God did not intend us to live life alone.  A relationship with God also brings us new friendships – a new family in Christ.
When Life is healthy and growing, it reproduces.  God made us to share His love and life with others; to live “fruitful” lives in our community, nation and world.   Therefore, at St. Luke’s we seek to show his love through action in our community.

We base our philosophies of worship, ministry, and community on seven foundations. Each of our values are explained in terms of what we believe and what we do to exercise each belief.

We exist to help followers of Jesus to develop the ministry God is calling them to. This means:
  1. A commitment to help each member discover and use his or her spiritual gifts to realize their baptismal vows and find a ministry that fits their personality, opportunities and skills.
  2. Clergy leadership primarily defined as equipping laity to do the work of the ministry.

Anglican Spirituality as our heritage

  • Exposing people to the richness available in the traditions of Anglicanism.
  • Using the church year and seasons as tools to order our piety and life together.
  • Using the Book of Common Prayer as a tool to order our worship. 
  • Using the Sacraments as the means of experiencing God's transforming power.
  • We are a part of the Gulf Atlantic Diocese within the ACNA, the Anglican Church in North America.

We exist to help people embrace Jesus more fully. 
  1. By adapting our patterns of worship and church life to be culturally relevant and accessible to pre-Christians, whenever it can be done without compromise to essential doctrine.
  2. By providing opportunities for members to build intentional relationships with the unchurched and training them to effectively share their faith.

We exist to fulfill God's will. This means: 
  1. Seeking to find what God is doing and to join Him in HIs work. 
  2. An emphasis on learning and applying Biblical truths to every area of our lives. 
  3. An emphasis on prayer first. In our life together, decisions are made only after a season of prayer. 
  4. An expectation of the miraculous. Because this is God's work, He will bless it.

We exist to reveal the love of God through the quality of our relationships. This means: 
  1. Community-building through the multiplication of small groups that build relationships where I can share honestly, my deepest dreams are encouraged, my deepest needs are cared for, and I am challenged to be all that God has called me to be.
  2. Creating environments where people feel it is safe to share their failures.
  3. ​Accepting people as they are, while encouraging them to grow more into the image of Christ.
